Diana: Hi, my name is Diana Lotca, I'm an interior designer and you can find me on Instagram with the name @dianalotca.designer

CasaHub: What are the most current trends for the year going and the year to come?

Diana: I prefer to go by long-term trends, not seasonal or annual ones, and here are some current trends:

  • We focus on engineering solutions such as ventilation systems, underfloor heating systems and others;
  • We emphasize well-organized storage systems and choose ergonomic and comfortable furniture;
  • And on the aesthetic side, we continue to use earthy, natural colors that remain in vogue;
  • We use some tricks to get personalized interiors and escape a bit of minimalism
  • And at the same time, the monochrome interior is current, in which everything including the ceiling is painted in the same color.

CasaHub: How do you approach choosing colors?

Diana: There is no universal recipe. One person will feel comfortable in a very light interior, another will feel safe in a dark interior, and someone else will need to use vivid and bright colors.

CasaHub: What mistakes do you encounter when customers try to decorate your space themselves?

Diana: The first mistake is when people don't have a sense of dimensions and dimensions of both the space and the furniture. The next mistake would be when you buy very quickly different furniture, lamps, materials, without having a unique concept.

CasaHub: What are the steps in planning an interior design project?

Diana: First of all we have a meeting with the customers where we discuss their preferences.  After that we work on the planning, on the placement of the furniture in several variants so that they can choose what suits them best. The next step is 3D visualizations where we already see the aesthetic concept. And the last step is the technical part with all the sketches needed to execute the project.

CasaHub: What solutions do you recommend for small spaces?

Diana: First of all, look for a designer who will make the most of every centimeter of your space. And secondly, you can opt for transforming furniture.

CasaHub: What types of lighting do you recommend?

Diana: I recommend using lighting strictly according to the destination and purpose of the area in which it is used. Sometimes it is not necessary to put a chandelier on the ceiling or some spotlights if our activity will be carried out in a smaller area. And at the same time, I recommend that you pay attention to the ambient lighting that will help us relax in the evening after work.
